This is Mirella and Veronica Sadkowsky. Veronica (left) is Mirella's first out of six children and was born with Rett Syndrome, meaning she is physically and mentally challenged and is unable to talk.

Here Mirella is reading Veronica one of her favourite books, while listening to her beloved classical music.

Here are my landscape shots taken on the workshop at Tidbinbilla. First is 3 random shots. Then a landscape panorama and a portrait panorama.

Landscape 2 - Orroral Homestead

Here is my second landscape shot for my folio. It is of Orroral Homestead in Namadgi National Park.
It looks like it is on a slant because the actual building is built on a hill.

If you were expected to do a travel shoot, what would you possibly be expected to shoot?


As travel photography is essentially 'advertising' a place, you would normally be expected to shoot landscapes, street shots, portraits etc. that capture the beauty and culture of the place you have been asked to photograph.
You may have specific shot lists, but sometimes you may have to find something for yourself, so you have to know the kind of angle, or feel the client is looking for.
Travel is different from general street photography or landscape, as it has to be focused on the positive side of the place. It has to look beautiful for people to want to go there!

Industrial Workshop - Milk Factory

The milk factory was a fairly good workshop, which I think I benefited from the most out of the workshops so far. I think for my industrial shots however I want to make them a lot more 'pretty', and show a more beautiful side to industrial settings, and make them more industrial landscapes, rather than details.
So here are a few of my milk factory shots. The last two are just for Cameron :)

Architecture Workshop - St Johns 2

Here are the photos at St Johns. I didn't have a chance to use the view camera on the day so I went by myself the week after. I was only able to take one shot though as it started POURING!!!
So it's a bit blurry, and I scanned it at home, but I like the way it turned out because it looks like it was the first photo ever taken of this church! You can actually see a fair difference the tilt shift makes from the film to the digital photo, as I was standing in about the same spot, and the perspective is amazingly different! One problem I had (I think it was the same with a lot of people) is that is crops funny, and although I tried to consider that, it still cropped off the top! Also the focus was really difficult to get right.
The digital photos aren't very good at all, but it was just to illustrate the detail etc.

Architecture Correction

This is the photo I corrected in Photoshop. The photo I took on the day somehow got corrupted and my computer can't recognize it, so I'm using an old photo.
As you can see I had to crop the image a fair bit, but it was a very distorted image to begin with, so this kind of angle wouldn't normally be suitable for correcting.
